Pipe Dreams

Knighted
Sir Titus Salt
A black and white photo looking up towards a life-size statue of Sir Titus Salt who was Knighted by Queen Victoria. The statue is of a bearded middle aged man wearing a suit and a long coat. Titus Salt was 19th century manufacture who built a mill and the surrounding village of Saltaire for his workers to produce yarn made out if Alpaca wool.

Artwork by Komi at The Whitworth Gallery Manchester

Another Place at Crosby Beach

Jugularity in abundance in Manchester
Two street entertainers wearing old fashioned stripey swimwear,swimwear rings and goggles. They are posing and pulling silly faces as I took the photo. They were part of the Manchester Day Festival a couple of years ago A group of young people in costume at The Chinese New Year parade. Two are in animal costume, one a chicane the other a bear. The young man in the centre is dressed as the Chinese God of Wealth. He has taken his costume head off and has a big grin on his face Two men are travelling along Albert Square Manchester on a small wooden boat. One is stood up 'punting' and the other is sat down steering. They are wearing stripey blazers and straw boaters. People all around are smiling as the men whiz past. They were part of the Manchester Day Festival this year Two women were dressed up as Punch and Judy tents with their faces peeking through holes in the front so it appears they were the puppets. They were smiling as I took the photo at the We Invented The Weekend Festival at Salford Quays

Undulating chairs with bonus spiggy 😁

The Refuge Manchester

Manchester Open Exhibition at HOMEMCR

Banal beauty on my way home tonight
A photo of the side of a building on my way home tonight. The brown brick building has two rectangular wide tgat are bricked up. Above the window are two green circular thingummyjigs attached to the wall that probably have something to do with the structure of the wall. In-between the windows ins a small green metal rectangular panel that has letters and numbers on, no idea what it is either. There is a small yellow square halfway up the wall with a letter H and numbers on that indicates where the nearest fire hydrant is. There is a metal pole with a notice on informing when parking is allowed nearby.

A group of merry women celebrating a birthday
A photo of a group of women celebrating one of the group's 60th birthday. They were stood in St Peter's Square Manchester on a hot summer's day a couple of months ago. They were all dressed in fancy dress as old women. They were wearing old fashioned flowery dresses, wonky grey wigs, flowery hats and had big handbags. A couple had name tags that said 'Dirty Old Dolly' and 'Easy Lay Edna'. They were all huddled together and smiling as I took the photo.

The Reading Girl at Manchester Central Library

No wonder the beer garden was empty 😂
