She would do this trip 13 more times and free about 70 people in the process.
177 years ago today, Harriet Tubman made her first escape from a plantation in Maryland with her two brothers.

While I'd love to see Ossoff and AOC run for president, I'd also be ecstatic if they were like "I'm going to lead Congress for a generation and bury these SOBs"

And stupid.

Steve Bannon is a white supremacist war criminal and anyone who aligns with him is antiblack. Would you pair up with David Duke if he announced he was anti-AI?
Bernie Sanders and Steve Bannon are showing how political figures who once wanted nothing to do with one another are joining forces in the face of AI proliferation, Toluse Olorunnipa reports:
The Bannon-Bernie Bromance Over AI and Oligarchs
The bedfellows have become strange.

We're going to be hearing about such abuses for years to come.
After Pretti was killed, Savageford, who is Asian-American, said she was taken to a warehouse near the Whipple detention center where immigrants were being detained. She was strip-searched, including by male agents who Cook told HuffPost on Friday were “touching her privates.”
NEW from me: Lawyers for a witness to the killing of Alex Pretti confirmed she has given an interview to the feds.

Full details inside.

Warning: Disturbing content.

In the 25 years since 9/11, the United States has spent $8 trillion+ on wars that have taken millions of lives in the name of fighting "terror."

Can you imagine if we had instead invested those funds here on climate, health care, housing, and education?

It's a scandal that the president of the United States is out of his damn mind.
It's also a scandal that major news media aren't telling you that, loudly and often.

I've been Black long enough to have at least some built-in 'yup, people be racist, and yet we move' defense systems

But ngl shit can still sometimes be...jarring! Like seeing this, openly and shamelessly, and knowing Gorsuch had him in his chambers, and that he helps pick federal judges. Sickening!
When Neil Gorsuch sends us his people....

Is Pete Hegseth's mission to destroy the morale of the US military, deplete munitions without replacing them, and render it incapable of dealing with aggression from obvious adversaries like Russia and China? Increasingly, it looks that way.

Jesus Christ, this.

Platner was given the benefit of the doubt despite having a fucking Totenkopf tattoo on his own skin, while many of the same people are demanding El-Sayed answer for any random comment from anyone who supports him.
The value of Graham Platner is that right up until all his red flags came toppling down upon him is that he is the most naked example of the amount of grace & credibility Simply Being White grants you. Compared to Abdul El-Sayed, who has to re-earn every ounce of credibility he has on a daily basis.
