Thanks to you and Jinxe for stepping in!

I have read nothing. But work is going better, so yay.

I completed most of my Summer TBR cleanse challenge. So I started a Fall challenge. We'll see how that goes. I tend to slow down reading when school starts, then get back to it at the holidays.

Lots of life stuff happened, so not much reading. I started The Shepherd's Crown. I had to be in the right mindset to read it. And I will probably cry.

Still reading History in Six Glasses and Vanished Birds. Also started The Amberglow Candy Store. It's a store run by a fox spirit who sometimes sells to humans if they can find the store, but the candy comes with warnings. Pretty light-hearted. Doing a buddy read with the youngest.

Yuck. It's been so gross the last few days, but at least today was better.

Oh no. They need run around time even on half days. Wow.

That sounds like a plan.

Does your kiddo have OT? Sometimes they are a good source for wiggle seats, the kick bands for chairs, etc. I've gotten lots of those for students over the years and it was fastest through OT. I would hope in kinder they would be doing lots of movement all day. Rug time, center time, play time, etc

Not even in trouble, just a hey little dude, remember your sweatshirt. He did get busted for turning lights off on the kids using the bathroom. 🤷🏻‍♀️

My own kid had teachers who would gladly accommodate her, but she didn't want to be different so she toughed it out more than needed.

Convo with the case manager and the teacher. I will say that I have had some students say very interesting things to their parents. One kid told his mom he got in trouble for taking his sweatshirt to recess. Actually he had been told to pick up his sweater where he had dropped it on the ground.

Oh no! I hope it's mild and you recover quickly. Shingles sucks so much.

Read The Brides of High Hill. Probably the darkest one so far in this series. More than a couple times the "oh that's messed up" phrase came to mind. Still good, but definitely showed some cracks in our favorite cleric and storyteller. It's a favorite series though. I really enjoy each one.

Which one the surface, it makes it seem like it's more of an internal issue. But it's not. Because too often the parents are not given the full picture, leading to miscommunication, unrealistic expectations, the works. I escaped this only because I had older kids and I knew what was coming.

My biggest rants right now are when the IEP team at one level does not understand the structure of the next level (like elementary to secondary). I have lived this.

So many laws and regulations. There are rounds of testing that do need to happen at specific intervals. I have seen many young kids first qualify as speech only, especially in the preschool years. Sometimes that changes to add more services if the data supports it.

However, I see a lot, "But they had an IEP" which while it means something, does not mean everything. IEPs are not monolith, one-size-fits-all. It's an individual plan for the specific needs of that particular student.
