Thousands of Americans marched in Selma, Alabama yesterday to demand the restoration of the Voting Rights Act of 1965 due to fascist KKK republicans turning back the clock 60 years. It angers me that we are still fighting for what MLK and John Lewis fought for decades ago.

I visited the Pentagon recently and remarked to my escort there were lots of bathrooms. He said it’s because the Pentagon’s in Virginia and when it was built Jim Crow laws were in effect - the separate bathrooms were for blacks. As we saw in Virginia today, the past isn’t dead. It isn’t even past.
