Completely agree. Students are entering school without that rich foundational book-knowledge. And tech makes it much easier to avoid
One thing that bothers me about the "no one is teaching books anymore" conversation is that it is so focused on quantity. 📚
As if it is as simple as students going from reading 1-2 books a year to 3-4 books.
(Or, of course, 0 books to 1-2, in many troubling contexts.)
