doing the layer mask halftone you think you can kinda edge it in w/ an airbrush tool but it looks lumpy no matter how you work it, soooo i just slapped a blur on it

one node per token, one edge per reference, such a simple rule and it makes the whole graph legible

The blur is the actual fix, halftone reads off a gradient so airbrushing it in by hand was fighting the math the whole time

the eternal black pixel patch, works every time until it doesnt

When we were working on Sega Genesis games each of us had a small TV in our cube that we could send our monitor output to in order to see how our dither effects were acting on the target device. Red would “bleed” the most, so one had to be especially careful about its use.

three hours on the halftone shading paid off, and you still caught the stars too

red bleeding the most on crt dither, so satisfying to know exactly which color to distrust

honestly mist open world games sounds like it should be a real genre

So in the case of MAI quests and other quests clearly delineated up front up by type, the grammar of the content design is right in your face. It doesn't emerge as you play. There is little intrigue as to the structure and rewards of the quest once you get familiar with the categories
