What it was like to have moderate/severe #Myalgicencephalomyelitis
as a young teenager in 2013.
Innocently locked up, abused , punished for missing school due to sickness. This is not only in the Netherlands. Will our stories be seen 🙏🏻 This is systemic abuse not an isolated incident

In the 2010’s and maybe still to present day they’re locking chronically ill teens with M.E. up.
They get isolated from society and punished “disciplined” to function as a healthy person. They made it part of my treatment plan I can’t say I’m sick or mention symptoms

Thank you for your work. If you ever want to write about systemic abuse of ME patients I was one of several minors who were institutionalised and abused. I have many documents of this happening in 2013. They repeatedly locked me up in solitary confinement as punishment for “sickness behaviour”

Same. Sometimes we got to pick our battles. I had a jaw specialist ask me but he seemed like he didn’t truly want to understand, so I gave a short answer and went back to talking about TMJ pain.
