The whims of one person shouldn't control the fate of an entire species.

But Trump just signed an executive order directing the Dept. of the Interior to consider delisting gray wolves nationwide and Mexican gray wolves in the Southwest — and push states with species-protection laws to do the same.

Pueblo of Acoma Condemns Interior Proposal to Revoke Chaco Protections
The Pueblo of Acoma is sharply criticizing the U.S. Department of the Interior's proposal to revoke federal protections for the Greater Chaco Landscape, calling the process rushed, inadequate, and dismissive of Tribal consultation. On Wednesday, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) released a draft environmental assessment recommending the full revocation of Public Land Order No. 7923, which since 2023 has protected approximately 336,404 acres of federal land within a 10-mile buffer surrounding Chaco Culture National Historical Park from new oil, gas, and mineral leasing for 20 years.

Shameless.
"For the first time ever, a presidential administration now claims that species protected by the Endangered Species Act shouldn’t be safe from habitat modification that destroys where they live, raise their young, or search for food," said Earthjustice attorney Kristen Boyles.

I love "work the problem." I think, like "do not obey in advance," it's about continuing absolutely as long as you can continue, rather than anticipating that there will be a point at which you cannot and quitting out of that anticipation. And re: not surrendering:
Thank you! At an event last night I said "If the word hope doesn't work for you try, 'Never fucking surrender.'" The word hope seems too sunny to a lot of people, but the heart of it as I'm interested in it is: we make the future in the present, if we show up, and that never surrender part.

Paul Rothrock has 4 goals and 1 assist in 290 minutes across all competitions. It is match week 5, and he’s already got more than a third of his total production from last season. That new contract already feels like money well spent.

This comes after we notified the Interior Department last month of our intent to sue over the planned unlawful lease sale on March 4.
