GPS works the same as it does with the stock OS. It's actually GNSS since it's not only GPS. Many users aren't aware they're using network-based location in addition to satellite-based location on iOS and Google Mobile Services Android. On GrapheneOS, network-based location is an opt-in feature.

That's good to know!

Extra: there's also a lot of security stuff like fake passcode and such but those don't matter to the average individual. So, please search up regarding it if it interests you!

Before switching to pixel phones, I used to own Samsung Galaxy and iPhone. Then, during my exploration of the security scene, discovery of desktop OSes such as Qubes, I found GrapheneOS. The greatest diamond in the rough for google phones.
Truly an amazing OS. Thank you @grapheneos.org! 4/4

I probably have not covered all of the cons and pros of it, but honestly I'd recommend to anyone using Android and Pixel Phones to switch to them. Not even because of necessity, it's just a way better OS than the one you get stock. 3/4

Graphene not only is private and more secure, but has really convenient features.
You can selectively pick (with contact scopes) what contacts does each app have access to, you can select whether an app has internet or not, and you get way less bloat with your phone so it runs way smoother. 2/4

Can't wait for Micro-OLED to become a standard. From what I heard it's way more resistant to burn in, but I don't truly know.

GrapheneOS certainly isn't only for highly targeted people. It provides a much more reasonable level of privacy and security which would benefit everyone. No one should accept the atrocious privacy and security of modern computing devices. We explained what we work on here:

Privacy and security on computing devices need to become far stronger to protect people from pervasive violations of their rights. Users have their privacy pervasively violated by corporations, criminals and governments. There are endless privacy and security weaknesses in software with [...]
