There are no machine made clothes, all clothes require human hands & labor.
As we can sadly already see in fanfic (why?!), AI slop is awful even at tropey fiction, bc like clothing fiction requires human labor (+ romance is NOT the only type of formulaic fiction !)
Oldest misogynistic book opinion.
What the fuck, Joyce. I don’t even read romance novels but this kind of thinking pisses me the fuck off. It further pushes that mentality that some books as “lesser” which is bullshit! All books count!

It turns out the actual unintended negative side effect of raising the minimum wage is that rent goes up, so whatever it is you can’t really live on it. A room in a shared house in Seattle is a steal at $1000/month
In 2027 Seattle's minimum wage will be $22.14 per hour. That's more than THREE TIMES the federal minimum wage of $7.25 an hour—a rate that hasn't been raised since 2009. And yet somehow we're not the jobless wasteland orthodox economics would predict. Weird.
Seattle announces 2027 minimum wage
The minimum wage in Seattle will increase 3.9% next year.

5 separate cis men recommended me this story back in the days when I was into HP fic. Fanfic by the technical definition, read only by people who did not read fanfic and produced outside our community and practices
Sure, I may have had a cringe Harry Potter/Draco Malfoy fanfic phase but at least I never got into Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality, a fic so cursed that now the entire AI industry is involved in a sex/death cult based on it

LLMs do not have the ability to make conclusions. It emulates this by being trained on huge datasets to develop weights for tokens in context. It does not think or understand what it is doing, it simply outputs the most probable next token in context. Agents working together is also nothing new.

Yo. This is the union calling for a boycott. Here in America people like to say "Well I was already boycotting Starbucks!" No you were not. You were just choosing not to buy their stuff. That is not a boycott. A boycott is an organized, collective activity. "I" don't boycott: we do.
We have power in numbers, and we'll continue to fight for a better Starbucks.

Support us by BOYCOTTING STARBUCKS until the company finalizes fair union contracts with workers!

If you didn’t already go to Starbucks, there’s no point “boycotting” Starbucks. A boycott only works to the extent that it impacts the bottom line, *and* that the target believes you’ll start spending money again once the boycott is over. Otherwise they have no reason to do what the union wants.
also when there's a boycott on we really don't have to do the whole "I didn't like their stuff anyway" thing. that is Facebook thread behavior. just be in solidarity with the union it's so easy!

I think of it a little differently. As in, reforms simply do not happen in the absence of (fears of) an uprising.

To be at all successful, reformists require radical movements. Radical movements do not need reformists (esp those unable to strategise, who always punch down and left).
I have constructed a very simple and badly formatted flowchart so that liberals can understand the position of leftists on the Democratic party

people love to leave out that you can’t really do serious harm reduction without also housing people

The core argument is that cities like Seattle are so addled by left-wing ideology that they have fallen into dystopia.

In reality, the city has never adequately funded harm reduction programs and continues to rely on incarceration to address homelessness. What Powell wants is what we're doing.

I realize these are all things that sex workers have told us and could tell us better. Consumer-facing AI is basically a sex worker so of course it’s personalizing various iterations of financial domination for men because that’s what they want.

As a human who is subjected to a lot of AI text at work and who read the cookware post, it was definitely at least partly AI written. The standard LLM tone it uses doesn‘t match the subject matter and is not how a journalist, professional or not, would write about this stuff (sounds like a marketer)
People have been talking up the new newsletter Worse on Purpose, which exposes corporate consolidation and enshittification. It's very appealing, but as I write at Cup of Coffee today, the vibes are way off and I think people should be wary. www.cupofcoffeenews.com/cup-of-coffe...

I think what’s really at stake is that there are vast swaths of sexual life in which women have sex that they don’t want, with men who know their opportunity to avoid or decline it has been curtailed, and men are outraged that this sex, which they feel they are entitled to, is being called “rape.”
