This. I spent decades in Upson&jasper county GA. None of my family listened to country, we were very working class. My ex has been friends with @coybowles.bsky.social since school. But we were a 99X (I still listen to the morning X some days) house. I couldn't name any ZBB songs then or now.
Again, there's the implication that working-class must equal white. On top that, country music isn't necessarily more popular among white working-class people, depending on where they live. I grew up in a working-class household and we never listened to country music. We just didn't care for it.

A year ago I was still technically homeless (in a supported shelter for homeless people) and I had an interview with a job through a program to get me in a proper job, home etc
Took the job they offered and started right after Halloween (was offered 2, one at Lidl and this one)

I'm watching Chinese verticals on dailymotion (judge me, idc) and there's one advert playing all the time, for Adobe.
Remember the Lisa Simpson 2012 olympic logo thing? This is similar. Without the acrobat overlays, it looks like one of those chat roulette compilation videos with a dick flasher

When companies do #ITsecurity badly.
my work account has us login with a password, or a PIN
My pin is 10 digits long, so has 10 billion combinations (1 with 10 zeros)
My password is 20 chars, each one of 80 characters.
That's 1 with 104 zeros possibilities.
Guess which must be changed every 100 days

I've sometimes described my job as "putting out fires around the site".
In 5½ months I've now had to LITERALLY do it three times.
This time the butt bin in the smoking shelter caught fire...
(And thats the least scary of the 3)

Help?
We’re applying for a geoscience outreach award. We need nomination letters.
Are you someone working in geoscience education or outreach, think Mineral Cup is worthy, and are willing to write us kind words by May 22?
Please drop a note to [email protected] for details.
Thank you!

So last night, someone went and turned the render distance WAY down. Sure my system was running warm yesterday and struggling slightly but I think the config went too far. Anyone know where I can access the settings for Real Life, so I can bump things up?

Something that's really started to bug me, is that sellers often add related tags into marketplaces, and no-one ever checks them and penalizes them.
TWICE this week I've bought what seemed to be an M.2 SSD only for it to be a SATA SSD when it arrives. it's SO incredibly frustrating.

Getting into the business of AI slop memes and videos so that _no_ video is not AI generated.
Nothing is real or legit or can be known. That was the plan.

Law & Order: SVU would probably have to film another 50 seasons with 100% prosecutorial failures to undo the impression people have about the ease of filing a rape complaint and getting a conviction.

Cunard's Queen Mary 2 arriving in Liverpool.
Was quite lucky with the timing and my positioning to get it lined up with the sunset.
