I think there are a lot of great applications for AI, but definitely agree with Mamdani here that it’s too soon to risk kneecapping the next generation of thinkers.
Technology being everywhere doesn’t mean it belongs everywhere. The tech industry wants us to believe that AI in early education is not only inevitable, but necessary. We don't see it that way. This week, we announced a moratorium on generative AI for public school students in 2-K to 8th grade.

I remember learning in kindergarten that HOMES was a useful acronym for remembering the five great lakes.

A bit on the nose to change it to SHAME, isn't it?

After 10+ years as a remote, traveling software consultant, I’m kinda surprised this is the first time this has happened.

Cute little health code violation there, where you traded out your dirty hawthorn strainer for a half-cleaned one, mid way through the dishwasher cycle.

It truly depresses me that On the Rocs is possibly the last place someone visiting Rochester may have a cocktail in our city. Especially since we have such an excellent service culture in the 585

Our city looks better when we all do our part!

Community partners were downtown yesterday for a Mini Sweep, cleaning up litter and helping keep our public spaces welcoming for everyone, because Respect Rochester means respecting the places we share.

This is the pattern, though. Toss ideas out and say you’re joking. Then more people joke about it. Then everyone’s joking until it’s normalized and no one notices when people stop joking. We’re all a big frog in a pot of water.

President of the United States does not have the Constitutional authority to suspend elections.

You should know this. Maybe a remedial Civics class would help.

Multiplayer Wegmans and Publix shopping lists! I got tired of trying to coordinate a shopping list with my partner, so I built this little (free to use, as-free, unauthenticated) app to make shopping lists together and check off items as I pick them out in the store! shoppingassistant.ktm.dev
Shopping Assistant
Shared grocery lists with store-aware product search, live updates, and MCP access.

I think the closest I’ll ever be to a billionaire is having a 60TB Unraid server with 64GB of ECC RAM and a 4TB NVMe cache drive.

I was considering building a small gaming PC and even a simple build costs almost as much as I spent on my entire server.

How is it possible that every time I call a company they are experiencing greater than normal call volumes?

As the compute race starts to look more and more like an arms race, what’s the possibility we could hold an international treaty to only build data centers with carbon-neutral footprints? I understand there’s a long political road to that future, but is it a conversation worth entertaining?

My first thought when I saw E-bikes going the speeds of professional athletes was that a simple bike helmet isn’t enough, and people should be wearing motorcycle gear.

Electric motorcycles aren’t catching on because if you call it an e-bike, you can skirt regulation and social stigma.

Trump says the ceasefire with Iran is over, calls Iranian leadership scum.

He also says the US will immediately stop trading with Spain, and has ordered a halt to all US visits.

Those stocks aren’t going to manipulate themselves, I guess.

My partner showed me an app that included an “AI Disclosure” page that detailed the creator’s thoughts on AI and how it was used to build the app. Essentially, the app was vibe coded with Claude Code, but the creator claims they will never use AI to generate art and take work from artists.
