when you see stuff like this, suddenly it isn't really hard to believe the IDF when they say they knew about the october 7th attack beforehand and that it was allowed to happen as a pretense for this, which so completely outweighs it in every conceivable metric. I hope there's justice one day

If you want a rational conversation about tradeoffs you should start by demanding honesty from the industry that has been lying about this technology since its inception, not to mention one of the common talking points being "You're getting this whether you like it or not"
There is a respectable argument for slowing down AI research, but it rests on the danger to all humanity of the technology being abused or going rogue—not the local harms of data centres
