it didn't even occur to me that the government might try to execute someone a second time if they torture the person but fail to kill them during a first botched attempt. truly grotesque and a moral stain upon all involved.

fun fact: one of the things that made me decide "no, I will get an actual diagnosis", rather than just assuming, was the subtitle of a thread about ADHD on the SomethingAwful forums because it hit so hard it hurt
it was along the lines of "if you were lazy, you would be having fun"

for fucking REAL. the depth of trauma for those undiagnosed with ADHD is real. not just the way we feel like we're constantly failing (because everyone is telling us we are) but not understanding WHY because we have no context to understand other people aren't struggling with the things we are.
Been avoiding this but it’s Super Important to have access to knowledge & experience w neurodivergence ASAP. A big source of lifetime torture among people with ADHD roots from inability to contextualize & put into words what we are experiencing both within & from how the outside world responds to us
