Always curious & kind. Embracing elder-hood. Career in libraries, schools and journalism. On Waccamaw land.
Correct.
I’m not opposed to the demolishing of The White House. It was built on stolen Native land by black slaves brought to this continent against their will. What I am opposed to, however, is the GOP sycophants justifying spending $250 million on an unnecessary ballroom while they gut VA healthcare, etc.

My stroke survivor husband didn’t realize it was my birthday until cards from friends began to arrive. He’s a good visual learner still. After an hour of hard work he gave me a one-word card. My favorite! #strokes #brain #neuroplasticity #resilience

Truly the most amazing thing I learned today! And I worked in libraries and studied Library Science! Thanks @mychal3ts.bsky.social
Dorothy B. Porter changed libraries 💜

The Dewey Decimal System used to only have two classifications for Black people: 325 (colonization) & 326 (slavery). Each book by a Black person was put into one of these classifications. A book of poetry? Classified as colonization.

I’m not here for a lot of “pie in the sky” talk but to remind myself that behind the clouds is the blue sky and to fill my soul with hope. Lately I need a lot more hope.

Thank you pilots!!! Fire🔥🛩️👍🏼
The most badass pilots in the world are the men and women doing air drops from choppers and fixed wing aircraft over the fires.
If Tom Cruise makes a Top Gun 3, it should be about them.

Me too. Can’t stop thinking of LA. Can’t forget North Carolina either.
wish my life was like a 90's movie where all my friends work in record stores and bookshops and coffee shops and we see really cool bands in small little clubs and get breakfast together and like hang out on roofs and shit

Saw someone upbraiding someone else for having a hobby while the world is on fire, and, my friends:

1. The world is ever on fire, this is today's conflagration;

2. If you don't find time for rest and joy the fire will consume you;

3. Don't let people shame you for being an entire human.

Thinking about a comment I just heard about step families of which I’ve been part of nearly 40 years: “A step family has people who “step up” for another.” #stepfamilies #stepparent #stepchild #stepup
