Its articles and newspapers like this what cause more damage then people realise. I spend most of my time working with patients and their families explaining the neurodiversity is not a bad or something is wrong with them, its a different way of looking at things #differentisgood #neurodiverse

Most healthcare workers have protected time in their job plans allowing them to be involved in education, research and/or training but the majority of the nursing workforce do not get this! In order to maintain nursing competence every nurse should have protected professional time #rcn26

Any prescribed medication should be backed by peer reviewed evidence based that is current and appropriate. Their is a fine line between recreational use and medicinal use, and the benefits should outweigh the risks after appropriate physical and mental health assessment #rcn26

For or against 35 hour working weeks? That is the question and looking forward to an interesting debate hearing both for and against. This is not a clear choice as the nursing workforce are across different sectors, specialisms and age ranges that work 24/7 365 days for our patients #rcn26 #rcn #nhs

Everyone was affected by the covid-19 pandemic, and the nursing workforce was there with colleagues on the front line treating patients, colleagues and friends 🧡 Nurses need to be actively involved in any future pandemic planning affecting our population #rcn26 #nhs @rcn.org.uk #rcnnorthern

When the nursing workforce are sleeping in their cars after a shift just because they cannot afford the travel costs to go home and return back early for their shift tomorrow. They are keeping patients safe and having to rely on unreliable and inaccesible public transport after long shifts! #rcn26

Pain is a complex multidimensional condition that can affect anyone at anytime. Patients can live with constant pain that have often exhausted prescribed medications, with a postcode lottery for appropriate psychological support. We need better access to specialist pain services everywhere #RCN26

Are external reviews meaningful? Every pound spent on the reviews that do not create meaningful change is a pound taken from paitients, services and healthcare professional. We need to be proactive not reactive in healthcare. We need to act before harm occurs! @alisonleary1.bsky.social #rcn26

This was a passionate speech that captured the difficulties facing everyone around misinformation coming from individuals all the way to our government! We need to challenge misinformation to keep people safe!

Misinformation within healthcare is a prevalent issue impacting all patients! As nurses we should be supporting patients and their families to make informed decisions on their care, and not relying on methods coming from sources that have no supporting evidence! @mannersofmarple.bsky.social #RCN26

Nurse education is not a luxury but an essential part of a nurse journey from preregistration courses, to advanced qualifications, to improve their skills and improve patient outcomes but also to have experienced researchers developing and pushing the evolving world of nursing! @rcn.org.uk #RCN26

The quality of clinical placements varies by not just by speciality, not just by trust, but by wards on the same unit, within community services and the staff working on these areas. Students need appropriate experience that meets their needs and skills as a future nurse! #RCN #RCN26
