I hate that b/c I can’t work full time due to the health issues I live with every day, this kind of thing feels like I need to justify how productive I am in my day to be “of use” to people, to be “worthy”. Sometimes keeping myself going is the work I get up to do.

Sometimes as an only child I do wonder what it’s like to have a family group chat with more than 2 people & then someone shows me the GenAI picture slop their siblings are making & sharing in their group as part of hahaha we’re so funny & I realise I’m grand as I am actually.

It was the anxiety & all the time being upset that got me to the GP b/c sure I overthink things but this was a new and unwelcome level. When it affected me walking my dog I had to do something. Can’t do that to Dora! On HRT since Sept ‘23. Game changer…
I get going after the grifters, but the need for understanding peri & menopausal changes in healthcare is really very necessary and has been wholly neglected.

Folks, if you didn't have epic anxiety and your suddenly do mid 30s and you think you could be in perimenopause, check into that.

I remember guys like this in college. They have what Momo called a “want” about them. Makes them creepy and ones to avoid b/c they offer nothing. You’re a status not a person to them. So “cool people”or girls they like give them a wide berth & they go on to ruin others. Mutton heads all of them.
It's always the goofiest looking basic white motherfuckers trying to convince me they're superior. Bitch, you have no chin. Sit down.
Wait he’s the third man?

At age 100 my grandmother needed help moving around & didn’t go out but she lived more than this guy. (She tried on my new mittens & refused to give them back, she told me her UGG boots were nicer than anything I had, she consumed her weight in ice cream, she threw sweets at people who bored her…
Bryan Johnson, a wealthy tech entrepreneur whose slogan is “Don’t Die,” has called himself “the healthiest person on the planet.” He consumes little meat, but a lot of collagen peptides and supplements in order to defeat mortality. Why is his goal to make it possible to live forever? nyti.ms/4im4Nuj

Around these parts it was “they’re a between odd, won’t look at you sometimes”.
If anyone in my parents' generation described someone as "a character," that's how you know the person was neurodiverse.
Nobody remembers "eccentric" people?!

You don't get a character like Miss Frizzle without the touch of 'tism.

From 1999-2001 I was a data entry operator for a trade magazine publisher inputting data off subscription cards what used to be in magazines. To cancel they either rang us or posted a card. It got done. In 2010 I learned how to put forms on Wordpress sites. It ain’t rocket science.
This reaction is hilarious. Is it really going to take that much of your resources to build a "cancel my subscription" form on the website instead of forcing people to phone someone whose job is not to process your cancellation but talk you into staying.
Andy Burnham is bringing forward by several months to January plans to make subscriptions easier to cancel. Trade groups said this would leave publishers "scrambling to adapt to an entirely arbitrary new deadline - diverting valuable resources that would otherwise go into building better products"

I think I saw this one. I’m now looking up label makers because I’m fierce suggestible when it comes to stationery, books, and anything I can use to make a poster.
i just watched a cool one I might have to copy, where she used a old school label maker for all the copy and stuck the labels onto a collage she made

Anytime I’ve taken minutes at meetings, the phrase “after much discussion it was decided that…” usually covers the talking in circles and tangents before they get to the damn point.
As someone who has been in the office game and has a few decades of meeting minutes under my belt I so appreciate you laying out so eloquently that this is a skill. I am not transcribing. 80% of what is said in meetings doesn’t make it in the minutes.

The more money a person who is in supposed service to a country or cause gets, the thicker they seem to become. We are currently stuck with politicians who are either 3 lobbyists in a trench coat or shockingly poor in the critical thinking department.

I’m at home, @rtegold.bsky.social playing in the background as I work and oh hey the Frames are on. Then Tracey Clifford is talking & slowly it seeps in what she’s saying. Shocking sad news.

A trailblazer within the deaf community, Hottle will be sorely missed. Our thoughts are with her friends and family at this difficult time.

As someone with crohns who’s dealt with the kind of thing during extreme flare ups, this is all extremely valid information. This isn’t your body purging something that doesn’t agree with it or a 24 hr bug. Don’t do it to yourself. It fucks with your body AND your mind.
Posted how easily diarrhea can kill you and got jumped!

Chronic diarrhea can EASILY cause kidney failure, cardiac arrest, strokes, heart attacks, and sepsis! People who think this parasite is no big deal and believe Gatorade/Pedialyte can heal them are misinformed! Diarrhea for WEEKS? Pls!

the actual humiliation comes from knowing you’re not going to make the toilet in time when you’re a grown adult hoping that today you will get a break & go out like everyone else and do your shopping & not have fecal incontinence. Before I got my stoma I stopped going out anywhere that wasn’t a…

This is a good question but as someone with crohns & a stoma, if I’m in a shop or business & I realise something is going wrong with me urgently, I do not have the time to go looking for the closest public toilet & why should I when there is a toilet in the actual building I’m in.
Listening to a lady on Morning Ireland talking about getting a special card for people with medical conditions to get access to businesses toilets. Sorry but what are we paying taxes for? This is an extremely basic state responsibility. Where are the public toilets?

If you’re being misogynistic about this film and anything in general, then fix your heart because you’re probably a prick.
"So why are people acting like Supergirl is the worst movie ever made? (One critic even said it had the “worst script I can remember.”) There’s a simple answer: misogyny."

Yes. I'd add that it's almost certainly coordinated misogyny, and someone is profiting from it.

I saw this movie. I enjoyed it. A lot. It says a lot that a film that has human trafficking & a mission to save a dog is getting slammed by certain folk. John Wick shot everyone in his way to avenge his dead dog but Supergirl can’t kick the shit out of evil brigands to save hers?…
