In Dutch this is called a "knot wilg". The origin of the "knot" is the same as in English. From the old English "cnotta".

I'm not a (very) religious person, but I can never seem to walk by a church without peaking inside if possible. A small one in Winterberg for a bit of silent reflection or just sitting for a bit.

Pristine dark wooden pews left and right, everything is symmetrical. Some small ornaments on the walls., but nothing more than that. The white walls contrast very nice with the wooden pews. On the end behind the altar is a small green light. There are minimal decorations on the classical built curved ceiling. The maximum height of this church is about seven meters would be my guess.

The focus is on the separating door of the compartment at about one third of the totale length. Left and right are green coloured benches with gold coloured luggage racks above them. The door in the middle is open and made of lacquered wood. The wagon dates from about the late thirties I think, is Dutch and this is the third class. The combination of the gold, green and wood make it a very warm image.

A landscape format colour photo of a mountain ridge in the Alps behind a tree line. The top of the left mount is lit up with a nice warm and yellow sun. Being the alps the ridges are very sharp. Some snow here and there. The sky is very cloudy but in a good way. It is a nice day, some bits of blue, but mostly very friendly small clouds. The mountains display very intense patterns of ridges and shapes with some grass still here and there. This picture was taken in the summer.
