I’ve reached the point - well actually, I reached it a while ago - where I’m militantly anti-AI. Fine - use it in bioscience labs and radiology where it might help analyse data more effectively. Use it sparingly for systems engineering. Everywhere else, it can fuck off.

Some more evidence that AI is sloppy rubbish. I watched a YT video of a guy with a Scottish accent and I accidentally left the sub titles on. Turns out AI thinks that the guy saying “Great Team” was really saying “Guillotine”. The whole text was meaningless and wrong. Had a proper giggle.

Megan’s Big Day Out - I’m 74 and Megan in her 13th year so long walks are only in warm dry weather these days. But my daughter visited this week to help with gardening and took Megan on an adventure just a mile away - this is rural mid Wales.

I live in a peaceful part of mid Wales. We’re on the flight path for many US/EU flights but they are so high it’s just a dull rumble. Not now tho, bloody US jets are swooping around above us making an infernal noise. So much for keeping us out of the illegal war. Who the hell do they think they are?

Another BBC article about UK flytipping/inspectors/fines. Where I lived in Brittany, every village had a free recycling council tip where anyone could turn up and drop off anything except food (they had even more bins elsewhere for food and bottles). I never saw flytipping. I wonder why?!

I used to love London Fashion Week with its bonkers designs and weird looking models, but looking at the pictures amongst all this global turmoil, it seems much more “golden calf” ish than ever. Why should all those guests have more money than God when most of us only just make it day to day.

If I had one wish for UK public discourse it would be that all politicians and public bodies are banned from using the term “we are committed to …” as it now only means “we’ll agree with you publicly but ignore it as soon as you are distracted by the next drama we create”.

The hell of car shopping. I’ve spent two days inspecting many cars at many garages with my son who finally decided on his dream car. We discounted all the patronising hustlers and bought from a small garage in Bristol with a hugely helpful and non pushy owner. Lying down for three days now.

I would happily embrace AI if they would train it to weed the garden, change the bedsheets or clean the toilets. But AI only seems capable of badly plagiarising artists. Also people who use it a lot are getting fatter, presumably due to lack of effort in all their endeavours.

I love Wales, I love living in Wales and I love being Welsh. I can even speak a little bit of Welsh. But although I am truly grateful for all our stunningly beautiful scenery, is God SURE he needs to send quite so much rain all at once to create said scenery?
