it is nearly impossible for new artists, animators, or programmers to share their work without a swath of people accusing it of being AI. the only way to avoid that is to have proof that your project existed before gen AI. i think this ignorance ultimately helps normalize AI more than anything.

They fired so many artists over this too. People who helped make the game iconic were tossed out on the street because the Slop Faucet could do it "decent enough".

If a generative AI CEO is telling you something, take it with a grain of salt the size of an iceberg. So if they want regulation now, it is more likely something to do with finances than an immediate existential threat. These dipshits do not care about existential threats other than going bankrupt.

There isn't an art skill level requirement you have to reach to hate on gen ai.
In fact I think being mediocre and still hating gen ai makes you even cooler. We all need to get more mediocre and get paid big time for it.

This is an issue I've had ever since the Disney renaissance movies came out on blu ray (and some dvds). They really were made to be printed on film. I was astonished at how the light glowed while watching them on film or vhs as a kid. That glow is lost (literally) on the digitally sourced transfers.
The Disney renaissance movies used to look different. They were planned to be printed on 35 mm film -- that's how they were first released.
Modern editions skip that last step in the process. It was a highly developed, overlooked craft, as we explore:
