Lancastrian. Husband. Dad.

Can't quite believe I, as an Oldham fan made it to the ripe age of 40 before I realised I shared a birthday with our lord and saviour John Sheridan. Best player I have seen in an Oldham kit.

Had a child free day on Friday - off to the Lakes, the coffin trail from Grasmere and round Rydal Water. A lovely relaxing time was had.

The offside line for one of the Torres misses in the first half had a right angle in it.
England are a good attacking side, but defensively they’re just not coherent

Funny how much better Jude Bellingham is than everyone else in our team. Very much the definition of a Rolls Royce footballer.

Surely must be the end for Mellon at Oldham, 4 losses in a row all against teams that were really non-negotiables for most Oldham fans. Really poor.

The Wire is far too low.
I have seen 72 of these Top 100 TV shows of the 21st century

This a very strong list, but there are many extraordinarily brilliant shows missing:

Ghosts, Derry Girls, For All Mankind, Foundation, What We Do In The Shadows, Detectorists, Rick & Morty, W1A, Young Sheldon, DTF St Louis, Fallout…

Watching Marvin Gaye: A tribute at the Proms, and man alive Inner City Blues is such a perfect piece of music that it beggars belief.

Finally got round to watching Napoli this season. Dire, dull, no pace, no threat, bad defence, old. Peak Allegri-ball.

I feel like I'm losing my fucking marbles. The Muppet Show is literally the premise of the Muppet Show.
There are currently no active conversations for a full ‘MUPPET SHOW’ series revival.

Disney, The Muppets Studio and Point Grey Pictures have had difficulties with deciding on a premise for the series that they can all agree on.

I remember someone posting on twitter that he might be in the top 5 funniest people ever and the thread having 100s of clips proving his point. That was a good day.
Incredible sentence.

Porto v City. Great stadium, even better City. Loved that place, some of the best food I've ever eaten.

I watched Cuckoo and Abigail recently and fair play to Dan Stevens. He is having an absolute blast.
Also more people really should watch The Guest, what a film.
You had my attention…
Dan Stevens has been cast as Robocop in the live-action ‘ROBOCOP’ TV series.

Loved my day at Plas Newydd, lovely spot. Although tbh it was mainly because I had a bara brith ice cream I still think about.
🚨 NEW EPISODE! 🚨

This week on You’re Dead To Me, I’m joined by comedian Morgan Rees and historian Prof Viv Gardner to explore the life of queer icon Henry Cyril Paget (the ‘Dancing Marquess’ of Anglesey) who spent his entire fortune on clothes, parties, theatre, and fun

I'm sure the Times and other media outlets will have a period of self-reflection about why an academic had 6 articles on the go about him at the same time, for academic plagiarism. Can't say there was this level of intensity for Matt Goodwin's AI book.

That OKC stint maybe one of my favourite basketball players ever.
Veteran guard Russell Westbrook appears to be calling it quits after an 18-year NBA career.

Westbrook, 37, posted a video to social media that featured career highlights, writing, “Sometimes you don’t even know when you’ve already watched the end.”

Back from a lovely week in Sardinia. Real relaxing week, pottering from beach to beach. Slight change from the local beach at Morecambe!

But also, I use the gif of 'I am shocked, shocked... well, not that shocked' on an almost daily basis.
What's a Futurama line that lives forever in your head?

Mine is, "Oh, a lesson in not changing history from Mr. I'm My Own Grandpa."

With all the Spiderman films now on the i-player, my son is watching the Tobey Maguire ones for the first time. Spiderman 2 fucking rules.

I love how The Cure have very much got their sound but every now and then Robert Smith just decides he wants to write a pop song so perfect it makes everyone else wonder they bother.

I just assumed they know if we are left alone climate change will continue, raising sea levels and leaving them basically including control of the planet. Then they strike.
One of the biggest mysteries is how Orcas, the ocean’s most efficient predators, have never attacked humans in the wild… almost like they know something we don’t.
