Ceftriaxone is what I was hoping for but the doc I'm working with is insisting that amp would need needed with it which is almost impossible for us outpatient. She isn't willing to do PO.

I haven't read the full study but before we had the rapid pcr swab, our old testing took 48hrs for results.

Its immediate on pharmacist getting the result. We dc per protocol. We also have the option to withhold the initial dose pending swab results if more than one antibiotic is ordered. So usually discontinued in under 2hrs and often never truly started

We have a pharmacist driven protocol to dc Linezolid or vanco in hap/cap/copd. Results are back in 2hrs or less
