Saw someone make the point that trotting McConnell out like this is elder abuse. Now, he’s a fascist POS, but at this point he’s also clearly not even aware of where he is nor what he’s doing. Dude needs to be in a skilled care facility, sitting in a rocking chair for whatever days he has left.

Country music is not an underdog—it’s highly commercialized and homogenized pop music about products (beer, pickups, camo) for yt ppl in all urban and rural locales. It has been entirely stripped of its working class, multiracial, working class origins to create a product that upholds the status quo
I see the NYT is still platforming 'dei crushed white men' bullsh*t. Here it's buried in a 'why rural themed pop culture' is so popular in a piece written by a Princeton grad who lives in New York City.

This expresses the heart of neoliberalism so succinctly. In the face of climate change, genocide, massive + growing wealth disparity, anf christofascism, the neoliberal feels that our greatest problem is a lack of unity & national identity. This is what we mean when we say liberalisms feeds fascism.
But that feeling of a shared bond among all Americans in the early weeks after the attack is something I’m so glad I got to experience. Because it’s the thing that I think we’re missing the most today.

Just days after Paul Schrader revealed that he plans to make his long-gestating crime noir “Three Guns At Dawn” entirely with AI-generated performers, the filmmaker has explained why he abandoned human actors in the first place. According to Schrader, Black actors rejected the original version because all three of its Black protagonists were criminals. His solution? Make the movie without them.
Schrader has spent the past week gradually clarifying his plans for “Three Guns At Dawn.” As The Playlist previously reported, the filmmaker originally conceived the South Central Los Angeles noir around three Black brothers—a corrupt cop, a drug trafficker, and a third criminal—with Antoine Fuqua attached to produce.
