We're watching the software industry implode in real-time. First the leadership teams force all the engineers to push more code faster while cutting team sizes and ability to responsibly review and debug the volume. Then, they encourage non-technical people to vibe code apps full of obvious security issues. Now Anthropic gives us a view into how their new model, Mythos, can exploit security vulnerabilities at an unprecedented rate even in the most secure enterprise systems. l've had the unfortunate privilege to see where corners are cut in software development during my long career. It's always on the security side. The introduction of Al to "ship faster with smaller teams" has only made it worse. It's time to buckle up because ZAI open sourced GLM 5.1, a Claude Opus level model. It will 100% have an uncensored version with all guardrails removed within a week. Just like deepfakes and voice cloning accelerated the rate of scams faster than detection could keep up with, coding agents are doing the same for security exploits. All of these new startups in the health, legal, and financial sectors hoarding sensitive data are prime targets, and I guarantee you they haven't spent much on security. Security is always a secondary concern when chasing revenue growth and the next fundraise. It takes a long time to test, verify and find all of the bugs and security vulnerabilities in complex software. All of these teams have been run ragged and crunched until exhaustion. The cracks in the foundation have always been there. We're just one seismic event from a disaster.
