stop. if you think the existence of a warrant is part of the conversation in any way, you cannot, by definition, argue that it makes any difference whether the guy they killed had a warrant or not. because right guy or wrong guy, an arrest warrant isn't a death sentence.
BREAKING:

BIDDEFORD, Maine (AP) - Homeland Security secretary said man killed by ICE in Maine was not the target of warrant, Maine Sen. Angus King says.

Are the optics of Musk holding court in the Oval Office while Trump sits quietly in the corner of the frame supposed to persuade us that Trump is in charge
Asked to respond to people who say he's orchestrating a hostile takeover of government, Elon Musk lies that "a majority of the public voted for President Trump"

This is the doomsday scenario Justice Stevens warned about in his dissent in Citizens United v. FEC. It was also an inevitability after the decision in Buckley v. Valeo, 34 years earlier.

A foreign-born billionaire threw his money around and bought the presidency. He now wields unaccountable power.

We are getting into uncomfortably biblical territory here
I posted this two days ago. Today at Mar A Largo, Trump unveiled a golden goat covered in $100 “Trump Bills” with his face on them. The bills also have the phrase, “In Trump We Trust” on them.

The worst part about having gone to law school because of trump 1.0 is now I *truly* understand just how bad trump 2.0 is.

I can’t believe the Supreme Court said the president was above the law and now the president is acting like he’s above the law.

The American Bar Association has just called upon every attorney, regardless of their political views, to join them & stand up for the rule of law & at minimum insist that our government "follow the law."

Every lawyer has an ethical responsibility to do so.

Brett Baeir: "Would the Palestinians have a right to return [to Gaza]?"
Trump: "No, they wouldn't."

Trump plans on committing multiple, and unprecedented, war crimes.
BAIER: Would the Palestinians have the right to return to Gaza?

TRUMP: No, they wouldn't

What's annoying is since 1980 conservatives have made steady progress in getting what they want: deregulation, concentration of wealth, weakening unions. This recent psychosis is the result of them winning too much, not too little
One way to think about the DOGE effort is it's an outgrowth of 20 years of hardliner conservatives frustrated by their inability to get the votes in Congress to do what they want to do. 1/

I'm fine with libs pointing out that things are "against the law" or whatever, but the tone gets so fucking grating and their language betrays a total lack of understanding of what authority actually is (and always was). Please reckon with the fact that the state was ALWAYS just centralized violence

Netgalley no longer supporting devices that aren't Kindle is giving end stage capitalism. 'We know you're trying to move away from Amazon but WE WON'T LET YOU'. This will only hurt both readers and authors, and encourage piracy.
