It's definetely not unique to social media, but it is very visible there - the eternal notion of "ooooh this is nice but what will my neighbours think?", because every asshole on the Internet is your neighbour in these spaces

Ran into an interesting dilemma today when I started ninja gaiden 4. At first I chose japanese VO, but noticed the lips were synced to english, but the real issue was; Reading the subtitles in an action game, or just while moving around was way too much for me. Felt my brain shortcircut

I remember back when FF7 remake came out, I was super excited because back then I didn't really like turn based rpgs(not joking sadly), but as time went on I tried some and now I really like the genre! I've still barely scratched the surface, but the point is I actually went out of my way to try

I know Miyamoto has basically said as much, but nintendo movies being such a huge success to the point that they start to have an effect on the games, really sucks. Like the OOT remake looks like that because people want to play a zelda after wathcing the movie next year, and normies love realism

Also interesting that nintendo went from making games where you don't need to control the camera so more people could play, to changing ocarinas camera. I guess they know they're making this for people who are 30++
