This is a beautiful, BEAUTIFUL read. It won't take long, so treat yourself. If you ever wanted to write, create, inspire, or are just looking for a moment of peace, this will move you. Trust me.

Live forever.
This is the most remarkable story Ray Bradbury ever shared with me. He told it to me late one night, sitting in his den of antiquities and mementos. Take five minutes to read this. It’s pure magic.

Discworld QOTD, from Jingo

“It is always useful to face an enemy who is prepared to die for his country," he read. "This means that both you and he have exactly the same aim in mind.”
Discworld QOTD, from Witches Abroad

“‘Blessings be on this house,’ Granny said, perfunctorily. It was always a good opening remark for a witch. It concentrated people's minds on what other things might be on this house.”

Wonderful story. All the feels.
You guys want to hear a short but adorable story that happened right in front of me at the baggage claim in NYC yesterday?

I wasn't part of it and there are bits I didn't catch but holy crap, I can't stop thinking about it.

5 potatoes cubed is still 5 potatoes because potatoes are root vegetables
I was making potato and leek soup and the recipe asked for five potatoes cubed.

Even for potato soup, 125 potatoes seems a little excessive.

Important to recognise that the £900m+ represents only the disguised expenditure and cash injections. Because it will have bought unearned success, which will have translated into higher winnings and sponsorship deals, the true amount of illicit spending could easily be hundreds of millions higher.

In the terrifying world of Dr StrangeGove
Sky’s The War Game put ex-politicians in a simulation where nuclear conflict was inevitable. It was arms industry propaganda pretending to be something serious.

If you need a quick briefing on what's happening in Northern Ireland today, this thread is a good place to start.
Dark day back home, lads. Drumcree standoff in 2026 wasn't on my predictions for this year.

Wouldn't be surprised if in 20 years from now, this is seen as one of the cascading moments that led to the end of Northern Ireland.

No boots on his feet
No pipe to smoke
Just an old grey coat & a 🖤 of oak'
