It's important to us that our voice cues accurately (as well as a digital voice can) reflect the pronunciation and cadence of the language a word comes from.

Second, we're working on adding proper pronunciations of road names and places in Inuktitut and Cree. If anyone speaks Cree, Inuktitut and/or Anishinaabe we'd love to send you some audio clips to review and provide feedback for.

That said, here are a few features to look forward to:

- Android Auto will be in the next release!
- Routing with multiple stops
- Bug fixes galore (including choppy audio)
- More accurate routing
- Large Text Mode (Simpler UI with large text - also good for small phones)

We currently have one big thing holding us up: we're waiting for Google to review our open beta submission so that we can move from an invite model to just freely distributing a link to join. Once that submission is in, we can't push out any more updates without restarting the submission.

Development is going well. We've been reading and replying to all your emails and feedback and implementing bug fixes and new features regularly. That said, many of these fixes and features aren't available yet for you to see as they require a new build/version.

Self funded at the moment with a few kind donations from people excited about the project.

Monetization plan at the moment is subscription based. We’ll follow up with sponsorships offering to visually highlight (but never change results) on searches for sponsor businesses.

Sunday is when we rebuild our database and incorporate any new data and between the new transit features we've been building and this database work everything seized up.

That said, a new beefier server is on the way and will hopefully give us a lot more room to build.

What it means is that directions are less likely to fail and fall back to the default phone voice.

Last note for tonight: MANY people have written to ask about transit directions. We're happy to say that it's in the works and well underway. See you soon transit riders!

We've managed to do (what we think) is a pretty good job of chopping the parts of that phrase up so that the common parts like "Turn right in 400 meters onto" meshes well with the road name. It's about 90-95% the quality of where it was when it was generated all together.

We were very happy with the improvements to the quality of voice navigation prompts, however, they were extremely taxing to generate. Every direction was completely unique which means the whole phrase "Turn right in 400m at Canada Road" was made and could only ever be used for that specific prompt

Reroutes were also not acknowledging when people were driving and just assumed a stagnant starting point rather than the reality that when it reroutes you've usually missed an exit or chosen to pass it and won't be doing a U turn in the middle of the road.

Beyond that, we put a bunch of work into fixing how the system reroutes people when users go off the chosen route. It had be frustratingly sticky and REALLY wanted you to go what it thought was the fastest way.

Some of the search/duplicates data fixes are live and some of them require us to do a full rebuild which is scheduled to happen once a week (unless we push it faster but then everything goes down for a while).

This doesn't require an update and should be live for anyone using the latest version of the app. Some of you may have experienced some strange behaviour regarding search and routing in the last few hours and overnight. Hopefully that's all fixed now.
