Curious, concerned, lover of nature, Earthship dweller. I wanna leave this place better than I found it. Proud 1st gen Canadian. Peace.
Regarding Carney and Canadian politics atm, I just want to say I've never felt this way about politics before. You can argue about bits and pieces of policy but the voices I'm hearing on here about him selling out Canada to the billionaire class, 1/2

Canada moves to grow trade relations with China in clean energy sectors. This will spur the growth in renewables Canadians are yearning for.

ANALYSIS | Are there climate benefits to Canada's new relationship with China? | CBC News
When Canada announced earlier this year that it would allow a token number of Chinese-made electric vehicles into the country, the gesture didn't seem so much about climate action as a sop to ease Chi...

Brought our 2021 Kona EV for an end of Warranty check up. 160,000km (around 100k miles) and battery state of health at 98%. In the 4 years we have owned it, we are creeping up on around $20k savings from a gas vehicle. #EV, #konaev

I brought our 5.5kW solar system online in 2017. It has been running 24/7 ever since, with the exception of a few times where I turned it off for maintenance or firmware updates. This was 2 weeks ago. #solar, #solarenergy

Not a great photo but I love how the City of Ottawa asks residents to bring their Christmas trees down to the Rideau Canal Skateway where they get a second use and add a great aesthetic!

We built the house ourselves over a decade, so had lots of time to come up with modifications and new ideas. Most Earthships use gas for cooking. We've foregone a conventional stove and instead use a combo of pizza oven, portable induction hotplate, wood stove, BBQ, instant pot, slow cooker, etc.

So we arrived yesterday after 10 days away and it's been cold here! The house got down to about 9°C. So we sparked up the little Jotul and the pizza oven and last night when we went to bed it was 16.4°C, which sounds cold but is actually pretty comfortable. This morning it's fried eggs and bacon!

Hey Followers! I know I've been lazy on this account but I'm gonna try to do better! We live at our Earthship part-time until our nest empties and that means the house is empty about 50% of the time. For now, I'm going to try to post at least one thing/experience every day we're here. ☺️

Let’s make Chinese electric vehicles here in 🇨🇦Canada as the feckless 🇺🇸US-owned crummy car companies go hide behind Trump’s tariffs.
Long-term jobs for 🇨🇦Canadian auto workers, and we can tariff Trump trucks the heck out of here.

It should be patently obvious by now that Canada cannot have a major news network owned by American interests, especially given ongoing US threats and American ownership of the major social media platforms. No other country would allow this.

Legit stressed today. I think I still have PTSD from tuning into election night coverage last November. Let's get this right and move forward in a positive direction. Vote Mark Carney!

Then I'm sure we'll be fine.

Hey, anyone have any good "forage your own food" books to recommend??

It can't be overstated how valuable Mark Carney can be at this time to Canada, Europe and the world as a whole. His experience is second to none as is, I believe, his character and commitment.

Drove NE->SW through PPs Carleton Riding this morning. Lots of Blue signs at intersections esp closer to Ottawa but only one lawn sign on private property. Also saw one lawn sign for Fanjoy! Let's go Team Red!!
