Australia Institute research shows the Safeguard Mechanism has failed to deliver promised reductions in gross emissions.
Its biggest failure is its overwhelming reliance on carbon offsets, which have enabled fossil fuel producers to INCREASE their actual pollution.

Absolutely. Because the print, radio & TV rely on headlines that get a reaction rather than inform people & are owned by a minority, we can only get disinformation.
People talk about the extent to which mainstream media has changed. It really has in lots of ways. Probably the biggest difference I've noticed over my 44-year career though, is that when I started it wasn't completely full of vacuous, grifting narcissistic ^%$*s, and now it is.
