Yea it's weird, while many who aren't in this region associate the state of Jefferson as a right wing nut job ideology, the NPR affiliate here is actually called JPR, Jefferson Public Radio.
It's always funny though when people from like Sonora try repping a region they're nowhere even close to.

It's of no surprise to me that the uncreative minda at the city of Medford would look to something like this rather than any type of real revitalization. Many of the commercial buildings are write offs for California based landowners that charge sky high rents for decrepit buildings.

There's a super interesting history of the towns whose downtowns revolved around highway 99.
Many of them were bypassed by I5 and were one of the main original impetuses for the State of Jefferson movement, with the two x's on the flag representing being "double crossed" by the federal government.
