Just got done at the gym, it’s move in week at the university where my gym is located. It was adorable watching all the little freshman walk around in groups like ducklings, marveling at the great big gym and, I’m guessing, at their first moments of freedom. ❤️

Settling in for a quiet evening of reading. I do miss winter on these evenings, the peace of an early dusk, the quiet that seemed to settle on as the day waned.

Woke up at 3:00am and decided to get up so I could listen to the rain a while. It’s so peaceful this deep into the night.

We just canceled our trip to New Mexico, it’s really no fun going on a trip when you have to spend so much time trying to figure out how to pass as more feminine so you can use the bathroom on the road. Fear sucked all the joy out of the plan.

Guess we better batten down the hatches. It’s going to be 78° today and we have SW surface winds and NE winds aloft that will create rotation where the two air masses hit, we are looking at a supercell outbreak that will create tornadoes. Time to prep the bathroom with our go stuff.

Just finished at the gym, with our garbage weather and gym holiday closures it’s been almost two weeks. It kicked my ass, but I feel better having done it. 💪

Day one of “stay home due to the arctic cold”, so far we’ve had a bottle of wine, all the Reese’s peanut butter cups, and a bag of cheesy poofs… should have bought more stuff. 😳

Haven’t posted much, it’s winter and it’s pretty yuck here in the cornfields. But we are considering throwing some stuff in the car and heading out west, maybe all the way to California, who knows. I haven’t seen the pacific in 25 years, might be time to rectify that.

Whew! Couldn’t sleep last night, finally went to bed at 4am, fell asleep around 5am, got up at 8am. It’s a quiet stay home day here, just reading and relaxing, and I’m guessing bed by 9pm.
