Something on his mind maybe?

Ha, apparently so!
October 3, 2026 at 2:30 PM
Well, you should, given that it's very likely to be pretty accurate and it's good news.
October 3, 2026 at 2:24 PM
Surely this threat only works if you do it behind closed doors?

You kinda make it impossible for the govt to give in when everyone can see it happening in front of them.

It's kinda the new thing. Like Trump. Never back down, double down, threaten, claim it's a conspiracy etc. etc.

It might work in politics, where its a bilateral conflict , not sure it will when its 19-1 against you.

Then, you're outnumbered and you desperately need allies.
October 2, 2026 at 9:41 PM
I have to ask, why did you sign up to that? Or is it simply that your current deal expired and they put you on to that?
October 2, 2026 at 3:52 PM
There's obviously a lot of simping towards Trump, but there are 1000s of customers that rely on their data being accurate.

One 'advantage' of the success of the Premier League is that a lot of its clubs are no longer owned by the English, or even Brits, and I'm guessing the new owners, such as American billionaires aren't as bothered by such threats.
October 2, 2026 at 11:02 AM
Britin maybe?
October 2, 2026 at 10:38 AM
Their appeal rests on the claim that the 'top up' money came from the Govt, not the owner, (yeah, they're the same thing but hey).

The easy solution from 2018 would have been to do that.

I don't quite understand why they didn't just do that pre-2018.
October 2, 2026 at 10:09 AM
Yes, of course, but that's not happening in the next 6 months.
October 2, 2026 at 8:22 AM
There was cherry picking by the US govt. IE they'd use 1 'good' day rather than a much more 'average' week, but the overall trend is upwards. I've seen some theories explaing why the Iranians are allowing this in the short term, but fingers crossed we can get back on track ASAP.

Kpler? I think others are saying it too.

I guess the issue is that while its still *below* pre war levels we're still eating through our remaining reserves.
October 2, 2026 at 6:51 AM
I'm sure other clubs *did* notice though. If you're involved in securing sponsorship deals and finance at a club, you'd have looked at Man City and known the numbers were dodgy. But almost impossible to prove without *those* emails.

There's a scenario where she's suffered brain damage due to lack of oxygen, is deemed incompetent to understand her punishment, and is then given medical treatment to support her for the rest of her life.
October 1, 2026 at 6:44 AM
The thing is, this might work with you or me, but I'm not sure it'll work with a bunch of billionaire, sell their own mother, bastard businessmen that own the other 19 clubs.

They've seen it all before.
September 30, 2026 at 8:00 PM
Obviously a wrong 'un from the beginning.
September 30, 2026 at 7:46 PM
There's a 3rd option. Kick them out AND force the owners to sell. From a PL standpoint that lessens their loss of credibility moving forward.

The Aerosmith (my son had never heard of them) rollercoaster at Disneyworld closed this spring and was rebranded as the Muppets ride, which kinda felt shortsighted to me. How long before they change it to something else?

(obviously we went on it again)

I remember a lot of arguments over Usmanov vs Kroenke.

There was definitely some 'think of the money we'll get', but the overriding impression was which one was the *least worst*, and why did Fiszman have to get bloody cancer?
September 30, 2026 at 10:20 AM
My guess would be that as the aggressive approach worked with UEFA, they decided to do the same with the PL, clearly not realising that the environment they were fighting in was very different.

Now, this is just PR for people who haven't followed it closely, and they'll claim they were cheated.
September 30, 2026 at 10:07 AM
Fan ownership is a good idea, but with the current value of clubs, I don't know how it could ever be implemented.
September 30, 2026 at 9:40 AM
All of them knew, I'd imagine. Anyone involved with securing sponsorship deals would have known that the Man CIty deals were incredibly unrealistic.
September 30, 2026 at 8:34 AM
Even if they somehow recover from their punishment, the club will still be tainted by the ownership and the staff that were involved in the deception.

And by association, that taints the PL and SKY too.

End.
