The consultation process is one of the things it wants to break.
I disagree with this approach.

SPOILER ALERT: Don't waste your time trying to convert far-right extremists by "debating" with them. Most are so deep inside their cult by now that they're lost for good. Instead, spend you're time and energy on trying to mobilise non-voters and the undecided. They're the ones who decide elections!

In Sunday School @quietriotpod.bsky.social ask: How will AI kill us all.
The answer is dead grass.

One day an AI model will develop something to kill grass and it will spread throughout the world on the wind and by birds, killing all types of grass it finds.

Unlimited donations from unaccountable sources are a threat to democratic integrity.

We're calling on the Government to introduce emergency legislation to cap political donations. Last week we raised this in the Commons. This week we've chased the minister again, because this cannot wait.

I'm sorry....
HOW MUCH????
The UK elections have just been bought by 2 crypto billionaires.

The total donations are about *four times* the amount raised by the Tory and Labour Parties combined this year.

Reform UK receives two record £36mn donations
The combined £72mn gifts from crypto billionaires Ben Delo and Christopher Harborne are the largest donations in British political history

This changes the game.
Reform UK will be able to out-spend any other party.
And they will spend this money on any election from now on, local or national.

Are you unhappy with the politics around you?
Then DO SOMETHING!
- volunteer with a local group
- deliver leaflets
- join a political party
- knock on doors
- talk to your neighbours about politics, even if its only about local issues.

You will feel better if you do something positive.
PS I've been doing some research into psychological studies of different voter/political groups and - it's true - progressives are ofter far less happy than rightwingers or the disengaged. But do you know which group comes out as happiest of all, consistently? Progressive organisers and activists.

Andy Burnham has a once-in-a-generation opportunity to truly change British politics for the better.

The current voting system creates democratic deficits that lead directly to disillusion in politics up and down the country.

We need a National Commission on Electoral Reform.

The depressing thing about the US isn't Trump really. He's just a grotesque. It's the complete failure of all the things liberals believe in: Congress, the judiciary, the press, voters themselves, all persistently unwilling or unable to stop him. It's the failure of an entire society.
And yet still farm counties will vote Republican. They always do.

Does this increased time alone contribute to the sharp rise in mental health issue for people aged 16-34?
Young people in the UK are spending more time alone.

Those in poor health and with the highest incomes have seen the biggest increase in time alone – three more hours alone each day, in a little over a decade.

Don’t solve the problem by building more social housing, make people in the queue angry with each other instead.
What a little racist shit-stirrer with his £5mill and 5 homes, whipping up hatred to make himself richer.
