Waymo should be regulated to hell and back. All the cameras and self-driving mechanisms make them significantly heavier than a normal car of that size, adding disproportionate wear and tear to our roads (in a state with limited construction season!).

In my opinion you should only be allowed to say someone "died for their country" if they died in a defensive war. If you die in an offensive war then you didn't die for your country you died for the generic concept of empire.

New: Macklemore will donate entire $1M of his earnings from Ed Sheeran's tour to six orgs helping Palestinians — and invites Robert Kraft to match him.

Says he wants to center Palestinians being killed + journalists & aid workers who keep going.

"Their risk is of a far different order than mine."

solidarity is a beautiful thing to witness. ten years ago if you told a Palestinian that multiple artists would drop out of a career-changing tour in solidarity with their people against genocide, they would not believe you.

never give up hope in any struggle for liberation, never stop fighting.

Ms. Rachel on losing partnerships and views for showing her support for Palestine:

“That doesn’t faze me because the kids gave me the platform. I’m going to stand with them no matter what. People on the ground in Gaza are risking their lives all the time to help kids. I can do it from Manhattan.”

I did walk to my local Ace *twice* today because I used up one of the cans of spray paint I bought on the first trip and needed to go back for a second one. I was very glad it was a block and a half from my house and I didn’t have to drive all the way out to Menards or something!

So. If AI is at risk of running amok(I don’t think it is) but also needs multiple massive data centers to support all the processing required, isn’t the solution to out of control AI just to cut off the data center it uses if it’s getting uppity?

The Hugging Face Attack was garden-variety cybercrime, wrapped in the faux cloak of science fiction, and someone should go to jail for it. Instead, the media leaves the labs blameless, treating LLMs as an unknowable intelligence versus cloud software.

A friend of mine works in AI and thinks bad things are about to happen. He sold his home and moved his family out the country. He said that if you own a home in a walkable San Francisco neighborhood near a taqueria with good veggie options, you should sell your home for super cheap right now.

after everything Minneapolis has been through. our neighbors & communities terrorized by federal goon squads, she’s going to respond so callously like this. im actually pretty mad.

Reporter: Do you support a national ban on surgeries for trans minors?

Democrat politician who isn't awful: Absolutely not. The government shouldn't decide who has access to what healthcare. This isn't a trans issue. Americans should question the prospect of politicians deciding who gets care.

And yes, I will be looking up every single (local-to-me) candidate's comments on trans people. I'm sure they won't all HAVE such comments (the dude running for water district supervisor has no reason to weigh in), but uncorrected anti-trans behavior will lose my vote immediately.

We’ve got leaders of the so-called “democratic” party telling us “you have to vote for us to save democracy, also democracy can never give you anything you want ever, especially not if you have a good reason” and they don’t seem to quite grasp why that’s a bad pitch

The legislature can just override them anyways to pass new restrictions. The risk with a transphobic Dem is that the dam breaks and they sign new restrictions into law and normalize Dems backing rollbacks on trans rights. So why vote for them? It wouldn't be worse with a republican governor.

This post pissed off a lot of Blue MAGA types calling me a liar. Yes, the Dem governors in NC and Kansas did what they could and vetoed the bills but they were overridden. That is my point.

In Ohio, that dynamic is there. So why vote for the transphobic Dem? There's no difference for us.
It really hasn't dawned on liberals that for trans people in some races, there is no meaningful difference between who wins. Kansas and North Carolina have Dem governors and they're some of the worst for trans people in the country.

So why bother to vote for a transphobic Dem?
But if I wanted to vote for the option that created the best outcome, and it’s better for Acton to lose, I should vote for Republican Vivek Ramaswamy then, right?

Like that’s the logical conclusion?

don't give a pass to anyone on equal rights. you have a right to your opinion on a candidate and we do not all need to act like we are politicians/strategists that are part of a strategic effort. candidates need to know when they fucked up.
