The common name eastern prickly pear is usually (but of course not exclusively) to refer to Opuntia humifusa. This Opuntia drummondii. Very cool.

Is this in the general vicinity of the chuckanut mountains? If so, given the notably broad leaves, it *could* have some introgression with Arctostaphylos columbiana.
