I just got LUKS hibernation set up on my Ubuntu machine and it's super cool. You can power off your computer and have the disk be encrypted (no worries about data loss if stolen) but then when you power it back on it's right where you left off. #Linux

This is what I've been using for ~5 years. No syncing except what you do yourself but that's sort of a feature also, in that no cloud version of your unencrypted passwords exists. KeepassDX for android; and there's iOS apps. More like adopting a file format (kdbx) than a single app.

Just about got run over by somebody in a BMW X4 backing out of their own driveway (had to tell "stop" at the top of my lungs) who then had the temerity to call me an asshole and flip me off as they drove away, after I asked them to please watch for bikes because they almost killed me.

Really enjoying Poppy Aykroyd -- an affinity for loops like Four Tet, but is really accomplished pianist and music theorist and so I was able to implement a lot of variation and musicality with it. See also Hidden Orchestra which she contributed to b

I knew there was a RAM shortage that was causing it to be more expensive, but I had not realized that the price has quintrupled in a year, until I thought of upgrading about upgrading a laptop

I was biking my kids to school this morning at a new campus, and our way goes through an East Oakland park, which can sometimes feel a little bit spooky when it's vacant. So I'm really appreciating the Chinese cultural practice of morning Tai Chi.

I'm dictating nearly everything that I write these days with nvidia's parakeet and canary models, which are fabulous and can run on cpu or even phone hardware. A great open source PC (windows / Mac / Linux) implementation is Handy handy.computer

Tomorrow, August 1st, prosecutors in Minnesota will no longer be able to charge children under 13 with criminal offenses. These children are in elementary school and are rarely ever competent to be prosecuted. Now they will get the support and services they need more quickly

Had to miss the last 20 but wow to England to do that with 10 ppl. Didn't go in with a favorite but felt like the red card was over called (as well as both pens) so was rooting for Eng from then on.
