Stunning array of rock formations and varied stratigraphy and rock types greet the viewer of this expansive scene. Sandstone boulders at bottom and a pair of hikers at right first draw the eye, with innumerable additional hoodoo-like plugs running off into the distance. A fortress-like wall of sandstone rims the horizon, with a final, taller prominence of light-colored sandstone against developing clouds at top.
