Me this week noting the gender balance of these crowds

It’s always odd to me that so many men spend their professional lives in spaces that are 90% male and it feels normal and un-noteworthy to them

In a few days, Prime Minister Carney is inviting some of the world’s richest CEOs to Toronto to buy up Canada’s resources, public infrastructure, and more.

We won’t save Canada by selling it off to the highest bidder.

Join us, and let's build a Canada for the many, not the money.

Doug Ford doesn’t know about or care about what works or doesn’t work in city-building. He’s fine with hurting the city (and by extension the provincial economy), killing people, wasting public money, and making congestion worse. It’s about ego, ideology & red meat wedge issues for suburban voters.
Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow says the province walked away from compromises to restore traffic lanes while keeping bike lanes on major streets.

I'll be teaching twenty Gr 3 students this fall. This partial back-to-school order would cost $290.38 through my school board and $668.98 at Staples.

#DougFord loves talking tough about protecting us from Tr*mp, but he's taking $60M out of public education and handing it to an 🇺🇸 company.

Contrary to a narrative being propagated by a certain double name person, gun violence is not actually increasing in Toronto

Do you know what is?
Traffic fatalities.
Including pedestrians, people cycling, and people riding motorcycles.

Don't believe the hype.

Why is Trump doing more of this shit
FIFA sucks
Toronto getting ripped off by FIFA
AI sucks

The break might need to be longer. Or permanent.

Huge thanks to 30 Liberal MPs who refused to oppose C-233. Your choice shows that the movement to close Canada's arms export loophole is growing. 🇨🇦

Govt has power to fix it. Don't let up—keep organizing and keep the pressure on. We won't stop until Canada is no longer complicit in war crimes.

In my ideal world, every politician would be fitted with a canine-style shock collar that would instantly zap them if they knowingly told a lie. Haven’t quite figured out how that would actually work, but I am pretty certain it would be effective.
In Question Period, Poilievre and his caucus have flat-out lied and said that the clean fuel standard is just a rebranded carbon tax, when it's not a tax or a charge at all, but a hypothetical estimation of how much it might cost refiners to meet that standard.
And now Rick Bell is just flat-out making up a tax.

There is no "fuel standards tax". There's a Clean Fuel Standard -- a regulation -- that might add a few pennies per litre at current carbon prices.

The head of lettuce that outlasted Liz Truss, and has since been moldering in the bottom drawer of the fridge, would destroy Trump in a debate.
There are patients who’ve been in a coma for years (a persistent vegetative state) who could beat Trump in a debate— because they wouldn’t lie incessantly. They also wouldn’t launch a war the U.S. can’t win, or create an international incident by insulting the Prime Minister of Japan.

So far the war on Iran has cost $25 billion.

That's $1 billion per day.

$41,666,667 per hour.

$11,574 per second.

Thousands of lives lost.

People don't want this. They want a living wage. They want healthcare. They want to be able to afford a home. They want their basic needs met.
