As a left leaning non partisan watching the Labour Party’s struggles, I really hope that whatever’s next, they stop trying to compete with Reform. Even before they won the last general election, I felt let down by divisive rhetoric like ‘We’re on the side of motorists’ Wtf?

Feels appropriate now to repost this as the Green Party becomes the second largest in #Birmingham and the others are queuing up to go into coalition with them. Democracy means that Reform will be represented on our council but our beautiful, richly diverse city will not be controlled by them.

The Camp Hill line is a great new service. Moseley Station is well designed with a large pedestrianised public space. I jumped on the train in Moseley this morning and was in Kings Norton 8 minutes later! Birmingham is choked by cars and >>>

Week two of the Claudia Winkleman show is an absolute banger of a chat show.
Agree there was a real awkwardness to the first one (not quite as bad as @theguardian.com review) but this was superb. Not keen on the US style music/ set vibe but if it continues in tonight’s vein, this’ll be a winner.

In Brum, daily vehicles are up nearly 9,000 since 2022.
More cars = more danger, more pollution at child height, fewer kids walking or cycling.
If we care about children’s health, it’s time to introduce a congestion charge - and cut traffic, not just emissions.
