This mosaic is from Italica, Spain (the birthplace of Trajan and Hadrian). It shows a lion looking poised for conflict - it adopts an aggressive stance, bears its teeth, bristles its mane. It’s a superb image of fierce strength

Can recommend OsmAnd.

It is on offline mapping system that works without phone reception. When you go somewhere download the relevant map in hotel etc. Go off hiking etc...as long as GPS up on the sky you can navigate in car, on foor etc. Just need to keep phone charged. A paper map is also good.

Managed to reverse a car straight into a trolley for holding a boat. The cameras never picked it up. Lesson 'if in doubt get out'.

Today I will run my first ever 9 mile run, and at race pace for half of it! Bit nervous to be honest...

Four weeks to go, and £30 from my fundraising target of £500 to help the homeless.
UPDATE! I'm training for London Royal Parks Half Marathon on 11 Oct for @sheltercharity.bsky.social to help the homeless & precariously housed.

6 weeks out and I just did my longest run ever: 12k!

Am only just over half way to my fundraising goal: do support me! www.justgiving.com/fundraising/...

It helped me regain the right skepticism about AI and, really, the stories we are being sold right now.

I’ve never seem something like this before & it’s great. This is a detachable marble wig for female busts, meaning hairstyles & maybe other headpieces could be changed for the subject of the statue. A fascinating insight into the flexibility of Roman statuary
