This is legit, though I’d offer as a counter-counter-argument that shows like Yo Gabba Gabba were successful at continuing the spirit of the show while offering something new.
I agree the right crew could do something amazing with the Muppets, it just feels xtra difficult under Disney.

That said, I think it’s also just fine to let the whole thing go. The numerous failed attempts to let the characters exist outside of the original show’s parameters demonstrate what a product of time, place, and talent they were. It was beautiful and now it’s gone. C'est la vie.

It’s true that growing up it was frustrating to see genre movies embarrassed or uninterested in their source. But lord, over ten years of nerds getting everything they want to increasingly creatively bankrupt returns has strengthened my appreciation for creative license.

Samus herself probably died a dozen missions ago and the creature inside the armor is a patchwork homunculus of countless mutated deep space macro-viruses that share a sense memory of unwinding after a mission with girl dinner and some holo-stories.
