So using map services to map stuff and couldn't tell what the road conditions where in an area, used a couple different maps to try and compare. Turns out the trail I had mapped is brand new it only shows up in google earth, in google maps it's under construction and bing maps it's just green field.

Doing a little project of mapping out bikeways that connect all the larger towns and cities in Washington State and where there are gaps in the network. Threshold is 10k pop as of the 2026 estimate (I did round Bellingham up to 100k cause like so close and it makes things look prettier imo)

something crazy to think about is that if we assume a vehicle cost of 60K with a lifespan of 200k miles, that means that per mile you are spending 30 cents of the cars lifespan, if using a 5 year 10% loan that adds another 7.5 cents per mile cost. at 20 mpg with $3 gas that's another 15 cents a mile

This somehow is reminding me of Smarter Everyday's recent video about the problems with capitalism. Someone who is not exactly an Alabama leftist.
Every time I hear about how much AI needs to spend to reach ??? it goes up and every time I hear about how much it makes it barely is going up in comparison to the spend. Also remember these big ramp ups in CapEx need to be redone every few years as a lot of the equipment will become out moded.
No amount of anecdotal “I used it for this one thing and it was useful” changes the huge sums that AI requires to exist, fixes the unprofitability of AI labs, or creates the $1.5tn+ in demand needed to saturate the 190GW of planned capacity.

Okay my first 1/2 second though reading the blurb in the picture was 'great an ai touchpad' but actually this is really cool, very great for disability use cases, if it works great could have additional use cases, like no longer needing to move hands away from the keyboard or maybe in some trades?

Okay I have done it, the state that is most new york like by how dominated it is by a single city is *drum roll* Alaska with Anchorage with only a -1% difference. next is New Mexico at a -14% difference. But what about metros? cities don't really end at a silly border of incorporation.

Bet the means testing will cost more than if the council did the right thing and just fed kids. Spend a dollar to save a dime.
