Wild bettas live in shallow marshes and rice paddies. Males fiercely defend their space, flaring their fins and gills to warn off rivals.

As an archetype, the betta represents endurance in hostile environments and strength in solitude.

A digital ink-wash illustration of a crowntail betta fish painted in dark grey and black ink on textured cream paper. The fish is captured mid-turn, with its body curved sharply and head facing downward. Its fins and tail flare outward into long, tapered black rays resembling a delicate ribcage or flowing calligraphy strokes. The tail fins have soft, feathered wash textures, with a subtle white highlight defining the curve of its spine. In the lower right corner sits a red rectangular seal with the name NISKALA.

"Intention", 2026

Someone told me once that the world moves with our intention. So I made my wishes, never knowing how much they would cost.

#Poem #Poetry #Art #InkWash #WritingCommunity
A poem on a cream textured paper with lotus ink-wash drawing on the bottom right side of it, made by Niskala.exe The Poem: Intention Someone told me once that the world moves with our intention. So I made my wishes, never knowing how much they would cost. I asked for independence, and I learned it only comes from being completely alone, standing in a quiet room with no one left to turn to. I asked for the courage not to depend on anyone, and my rose-tinted glasses broke into a million pieces. forcing my eyes open to see the world as it really was. I asked for patience, and life taught me through grief and heartbreak. I asked to be strong, to enjoy my own company, and the universe took my friends away. It even took my cats. So if the world is truly listening to my intention, if it moves with the words I speak, then I am changing what I ask for now. I wish for a safe and warm home. I wish for kindness, and gentle hands. I wish for a full stomach. I wish for a full heart.

"The Visitor", Digital Ink-Wash, 2026

When a butterfly enters your space, old folks tell you not to chase it away.

It carries the quiet presence of someone who loved you, coming back to the living world for one brief, wordless visit..

Artists are allowed to make fucked up upsetting art.

You are allowed to block them if it bothers or triggers you.

You are not allowed to demand that transgressive art never exist.

Especially when the artists are marginalized or queer and already have society trying to erase them.

"Putri Malu", Digital Ink-Wash, 2026

There is a reason this plant folds into itself whenever someone reaches for it. In our folktales, those thorns were a girl's very last defense.

A digital ink-wash illustration on cream paper depicting the Putri Malu plant (Mimosa pudica). It features thin stems lined with thorns, small round spiky blossoms, and delicate leaflets, with one lower branch drooping closed.

Free Mobile Wallpapers (✿ ♡‿♡)

I wanted to give these pieces a new life instead of letting them sit in my gallery, so I turned them into phone wallpapers.

Download them completely free on my Ko-fi as a thank you for your support.

First post here!

I made this while testing a larger canvas, then ended up liking the mood enough to keep working on it. Quite proud of it <(￣︶￣)>

I make digital ink-wash art about animals, myths, and quiet feelings. Let's be friends!

A grayscale digital ink-wash seascape. A large dark wave rises across the foreground, separated by a pale stretch of water from a small lighthouse standing on a distant cliff. The loose washes create a misty, stormy mood.
