More often than not, I'm reading.

Returning to social media after three years by creating accounts on Bluesky and Little Red Book as well as beginning to post on Insta and Tumblr again. 🫰 Lots of book, video game, knit/crochet content and daily life posts to come. 💜
It's actually insane to me that tourists tell us we chose to live in a tourist town when we complain about rude tourists who treat Salem like an amusement park. The solution isn't that we move, its that tourists learn to behave. You're a visitor in our home. Learn city etiquette and be nice. ✌🏼

I hear a lot of people ask if Salem is safe to visit. It depends on what type of person you are. Not who you are. Who you choose to be. Hope this helps. ✌🏼

Convict rapists now before they become our doctors, teachers, police officers, elected officials, or the fucking president. Holy shit.

I keep hearing people say "reading in public is performative" and how we all "want to seem educated by bringing a book everywhere" and I guess that explains why people try to strike up a conversation with me every time I read in public. 🫩

Queer retellings are some of my favorite subgenres because I get such satisfaction from knowing that these books exist for all the kids who never had the chance to see themselves in classic myths and stories. #booksky

We got almost an hour into DWTS before I realized I was texting my votes to my health insurance instead of the voting line. 😭🤚🏼

Tourists,

Boston and Salem aren't cities where you can put up white supremacy posters and preach about anti-trans laws. We were the only state to unanimously vote blue in the last election. We always vote with overwhelming support for human rights.

We don't tolerate nazis, transphobes, or racists.

Last week I had radiofrequency ablation done on my spine (neck and upper back), so I know what it's like to have issues with your spine and would love to formally introduce Ed Sheeran to the disabled community (you fucking coward).

𝗨𝗻𝗽𝗮𝘆𝘄𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗱 (𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗳𝗹𝘆) - Too many people still hope they can wait out Trumpism for things to return to 'normal'. But the world is past that even if Trump departs after his second term. This isn't just a blip, and instead of hope we need adaptation for survival.

Trumpism doesn’t die with Trump – we need to wake up to the facts
It is fanciful to think that the unpredictable, aggressive and often self-sabotaging US will revert to its old ways once its current leader has gone. But, as Keir Giles explores in his new book, the f...

I'm chronically OFFline, but it also doesn't feel necessary to tell ya'll how I feel about the RM, Jhope and Chris Brown situation because if you actually know me you know the lore. You will know I feel. For strangers, this article is perfect.

Concerts in your 30s are so funny. I made sure to stay hydrated, eat, and didn't drink alcohol. Went home to take a shower, do my full skincare routine, and made sure I took my multivitamin and as needed Rx for chronic pain so I wouldn't be bedridden today. lmao

BTS comeback concert was amazing!

I miss when the CDC was taken seriously. Now they're only tracking e.coli and salmonella. They stopped tracking cyclospora, campylobacter, listeria, shigella, vibrio and yersinia. Thousands of cases because the system meant to detect this was defunded.

Fairyloot needs to stop sending Adult Fantasy subscribers a romantasy book. I just received a fake dating romance in a fantasy setting. Hello? It's a duplicate with Allurial. 🙄 This should've been sent to romantasy subscribers.

Ronaldo “did not learn about his father’s final moments from a hospital or law enforcement. Instead, confirmation of his death came in the cruel form of videos on social media.”

“I recognized him immediately: not from his appearance, but from his voice crying in the street as he was bleeding out.”

The problem isn't the context, it's the fact that literacy is dead. People lack critical thinking skills and refuse to look up a word they don't recognize.
so i log off for a couple of days and now we're debating whether books need big words and sex scenes??? two of my favorite things a book can have???? no. i don't believe you. this is a prank pulled on me specifically

The number of times people comment on how I look tired, sick, or like I'm sweating from how hot it is at work and it's just me existing without foundation and concealer. lmao Usually my makeup hides redness and eye bags. That's makeup 101.

It's not just illiteracy among readers that's worrying. I've been pretty stunned in the last few years re: illiteracy among publishing professionals, too. Just....incapable of inferring anything other than the literal meanings of words on the page.
