Certain kinds of smart people tend to have a "sexy apocalypse" problem when it comes to thinking about risk. E.g. skynet turning everyone in paperclips, while bad, is also *kind of cool and fun* at the same time. Where the reality is that most actual disasters are both stupid and disappointing.

speaking as a science journalist who is also a trained physicist, this is the FUCKING WORST POSSIBLE THING. This is the opposite of trustworthy. You can't trust a damn thing an "AI agent" tells you. An article needs to be unchanged between queries, or any change needs to be documented clearly.

Instead of a PDF, the paper is an AI agent that you can talk to, ask questions, run analyses.

Every single study design possible finds that community paramedicine programs reduce overall healthcare system, social, and governmental costs but because of the way these programs are funded, paramedics are licensed, and distributed benefits means programs languish away after pilots.
Paramedics are helping patients manage illnesses, connect with services and avoid calling 911. But these programs can be tough to sustain in rural areas.
Community paramedicine can free up ambulance crews to respond to true emergencies. But volunteer EMS agencies may lack the resources to create such offerings.
