Tbf that goes back all the way to 2013, when Apple threw out the original design of iOS and every other designer took it as a free pass to just constantly keep changing interfaces for no reason.

In Super Mario Maker 2, failing the matching game in the World Maker will cause Mario's mismatched creation to emerge from the door, making him slowly back away in fear or disgust. Below are all the possible abominations Mario can create.
