Mutiny is an odd mix of clunky dialogue, obvious exposition, some average acting, and some superb action scenes where Jason Statham absolutely fucks up a series of disposable henchmen. Midtier Jason, perfectly enjoyable disposable night at the cinema

This was very much a battle of "this is supposed to be terrible" versus "this looks like something I'd very much enjoy". Glad I trusted my instincts, it's flawed but also great fun. Joe Don Baker as a scuzzier, more sardonic Dirty Harry. Includes a dune buggy battle with John Saxon

I've watched bad DTV films before, especially films where a bigger star is clearly slumming it below his level. But I've very rarely seen a film where I look at some of the performances and think "I would genuinely do better than that"
