Absolutely love him as a player and as a signing, and think he has been a success… but I don’t understand how Eze gets a free pass vs the over-the-top vitriol directed towards Gyokeres. Was useless last night, and has done nothing all season (so far).

To me, it feels a bit strange that Miles is still listed on the website as a defender. He hasn't played there this season, barely did last season, and we have 2x 'first-choice' LBs. He's an emergency defender at most. In the same way Rice and Zubi are emergency RBs (although hopefully not any more).

My extremely lukewarm take from last night was that Merino and Zubimendi looked excellent when coming on. And Bruno was a level above that.
Not bad that we can change our entire midfield and have those three come on. So my comfort with the Ethan loan stems from that.

Genuine question: does Konsa get a ‘walk-out’ before the game today?
Does he deserve/warrant/expect it? Is it weird if he does or weird if he doesn’t? Tzolis didn’t get one, Bruno did.
Not sure 60k go mad for Konsa in same way as for Eze, for example.

If they do 25 each, it's better than any signing Arsenal can make to improve the attack.

While it is FAR from ideal to start the season with 'only' our existing attacking options, I think there are pretty coherent arguments for expecting a greater output from our current forwards: for one, Kai, Odegaard and Saka only scored NINE goals between them in the PL last year.

Surely there's a point - and I can't believe that point hasn't already been passed and is not a rapidly disappearing dot in the background - where other members of FIFA say, "This guy's a lunatic" and oust/sack/outvote/vote of no confidence the bald criminal?

Feels like we were getting close to a resolution on the whole 115 charges malarkey around the end of the season. Now the World Cup has taken over and everyone has forgotten again.
And now, old 115 is spending £130m taking their best player from yet another Prem club (for the 3rd time in 6 months).
