I *think* I somehow dodged this particular bullet, but my memory before age 15 is full of conspicuous holes and the bit I DO remember about being choked out on a kayaking trip with the BSA certainly isn't far off the mark. I just got "lucky" that it happened on the riverbank instead of on the water.
Why do they try to drown so many of us, why is being held under the water until you think you're going to die a common childhood story for us.

I thought I was finally free-ish of the nightmares for once in my life, then I shut my eyes in my chair earlier today and got locked in for a few rounds of my own nervous system trying to emulate various crude surgical procedures.
